About Us
UAB’s Physician Services program began in 1985 and was among the first of its kind in the nation. The clinically focused program features registered nurses who serve as physician liaisons and departmental leaders and are devoted to providing excellent customer service, administrating the Ambassador program, and assisting with the referral process. Physician Services strives to position UAB Medicine as the facility of choice for referring providers, while enhancing continuity of care and improving communication with the referring community. Our liaisons travel throughout Alabama, into areas of Mississippi and Tennessee, and the Florida Panhandle to meet with referring physicians and their office staff, sharing the most up-to-date information on research, technology, physicians, and services at UAB.
