In the 25-plus years that I’ve served UAB Medicine, I am most proud of our unified effort to deliver quality health care to every patient, every time. We are a national and international leader in medicine, and our facilities offer the latest technology and the most advanced techniques and treatments.

Our physicians and other medical professionals are widely recognized for their expertise, and many of our programs are ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. We created a world-class care environment by ensuring that UAB Medicine providers are focused on the individual needs of each patient. If you are a UAB Medicine patient already, thank you for allowing us to serve you. If not, I invite you to discover the UAB Medicine difference for yourself. We care for patients in the same way we’d want our own family members treated.

From a young age, I knew that I wanted to practice medicine, but more than that, I wanted to make a difference in the lives of other people. I am proud to work alongside the dedicated professionals in all areas of our clinical operations, as they truly make a difference for our patients and their families.

I have been passionate about clinical research and education throughout my career. I have been a medical student, trainee, researcher, physician, teacher, and administrative leader. To this day, I still experience the privilege and weight of working in the operating room, fighting for a patient's life. I identify with the researchers in their labs, putting in long hours but only minutes away from their next discovery. I understand the daily duties of the academic and administrative worlds, and I am humbled by the continual efforts of our providers to ensure that our patients receive the highest level of care.

UAB Medicine will continue to pursue high-quality patient care, the best possible outcomes, and growth in our nationally recognized programs, as we strive to transform the communities we serve into healthier places to live and work.
