Spain Rehabilitation Center (SRC) has treated more than 450,000 patients since opening in 1964. Our care team includes physicians, physician residents, advanced practice providers (APPs), rehabilitation therapists, nurses, patient care technicians (PCTs), case managers, psychologists, and other care providers. Our clinicians have the expertise and compassion necessary to develop comprehensive care plans to help patients overcome difficulties and pursue their goals.
In 2025, we are expanding our rehabilitation medicine services by opening the new UAB Rehabilitation Pavilion. This 78-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital is staffed by professionals from the UAB Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. As part of UAB Medicine, the Rehabilitation Pavilion provides 24/7 access to the specialists and resources of UAB Hospital. From overhead lifts in each room and repositioners in each bed to special amenities such as private therapy suites, rooftop courtyard, dedicated speech therapy areas, basketball court, and golf putting green, the new facility was designed from the ground up to enhance the experience for patients and better support their physical, mental, and emotional recovery.
