The Future of Precision Medicine
Precision medicine is still in a relatively early stage, and new approaches to prediction and prevention, diagnosis, and treatment are continually evolving. UAB is at the forefront of discovering the causes of disease and using this knowledge to deliver better medical care. We have pioneered a population screening approach in our own state and are integrally involved in the federal Precision Medicine Initiative. Our long-term goals are to be an international leader in precision medicine and ensure that people seeking care at UAB benefit from precision medicine’s potential through living longer, healthier lives.
