For the second year in a row, the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN) has recognized UAB Medicine as a Best Workplace for Men in Nursing. It was one of only three hospitals to receive this honor for 2024.
This award recognizes efforts to recruit and retain men in nursing. Criteria include health and wellness programs to address men’s health issues, gender-neutral orientation and continuing education materials, and career fairs focused on men in nursing.
“We’re honored that UAB Medicine has again been recognized among the Best Workplaces for Men in Nursing,” said UAB Hospital Chief Nursing Officer Terri Poe. “This award highlights our commitment to fostering an environment where all nursing professionals feel supported and valued. We’re proud to be part of an organization that is addressing the gender gap in nursing, promoting men’s health, and offering pathways for growth and development for our nursing staff.”
