Alex Posey

Why did you choose to become a therapist?

I wanted to make a positive impact on people’s lives who have gone through lifechanging illnesses, accidents, or chronic conditions. Having witnessed the challenges that such experiences can bring, I felt a strong calling to support others through their healing and adjustment processes. My goal is to provide compassionate care and practical strategies to help people navigate their recovery and improve their quality of life.

What do you enjoy about inpatient rehab?

It allows me to spend an hour and a half with each patient daily, from their initial evaluation to their discharge home. This extended time together enables us to connect on a deeper level and build a strong rapport and trust. Many of our patients come from the hospital, and in inpatient rehab, we have the opportunity to guide them through their transition back home. Being part of their journey and helping them regain their independence have been incredibly rewarding.

What most excites you about our new rehab hospital opening this spring?

It’s going to offer much more specialized treatment for our patients, with each floor dedicated to specific diagnoses and staffed by therapists and interdisciplinary teams that specialize in those conditions. I’m also looking forward to using all the new state-of-the-art equipment to provide the latest treatments. And we can’t forget about the rooftop terrace – it’s going to be a fantastic space for everyone to enjoy!
