Program Highlights

UAB Medicine’s celiac disease center is the only one in Alabama and the Deep South. It combines expert physician care with innovative clinical and translational research, including studies of non-dietary therapies. We see patients with both confirmed and suspected celiac diagnoses, as well as those who are resistant to treatment or with refractory sprue. Extensive dietitian support helps manage complications such as vitamin and mineral deficiencies, osteoporosis, and infertility.
